Last Updated: September 12, 2025

Thanks for using Solon!

Please read the terms below carefully. Our goal is to offer the Solon website (the "Service") in order to increase legal access for regular people. In pursuit of this goal, we may occasionally adjust our offerings and the associated terms of service ("Terms") accordingly. Please read them carefully. At any time Solon, Inc. ("we") may change these terms by updating this posting, or emailing you at the email address you provided. You should visit this posting to review these Terms from time to time.

1. Who Can Use The Service

The Service is available to anyone who is at least 18 years old, is a resident of the United States, and has a valid email address ("Users", "prospective clients"). We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone or restrict your account at any time, but particularly in cases of violations of these Terms.

The Service is also available to participating attorneys ("Attorneys") who are professionally licensed to practice law in their jurisdiction. These Terms also apply to them.

2. What You Can Do

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, as a User, you may use the Service to:

  • Learn general information about legal topics
  • Find and mechanically fill out legal forms
  • Connect with attorneys in your jurisdiction

Additionally, Attorneys may use the Service to:

  • Connect with prospective clients
  • Review prospective clients' chat history to have more context about prospective clients and streamline their onboarding experience

3. What You Cannot Do

Our Service is intended to be used for the purposes described above in Section 2. You may not use our Services for any illegal or abusive activities. For example, you may not:

  • Attempt to "jailbreak" our Services for unrelated tasks such as generating software code, entertainment content, or other non-legal outputs.
  • Represent that the Output generated is legal advice.
  • Use our Services in a way that infringes, misappropriates or violates anyone's rights.
  • Modify, copy, lease, sell or distribute any of our Services.
  • Attempt to or assist anyone to reverse engineer, decompile or discover the source code or underlying components of our Services, including our models, algorithms, or systems (except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law).
  • Automatically or programmatically extract data or Output from our Services.
  • Represent that Output was human-generated when it was not.
  • Interfere with or disrupt our Services, including circumvent any rate limits or restrictions or bypass any protective measures or safety mitigations we put on our Services.
  • Use Output to develop models that compete with Solon.

Additionally, participating Attorneys may not attempt to use our Service to:

  • Generate legal advice without attorney review
  • Circumvent our software for showing the Attorney's profile to Users

4. Relationship with Attorneys

Participating Attorneys are listed on our Service as a way for Users to find relevant attorneys in their jurisdiction and further our goal of improving legal access. However, Solon does not make endorsements of any attorneys listed and has not reviewed their services beyond verifying they are licensed to practice in their jurisdiction. Additionally, some of the attorneys listed may have a paid advertising arrangement with Solon to be shown more frequently.

5. Content

Your content. You may provide input to the Services ("Input"), and receive output from the Services based on the Input ("Output"). Input and Output are collectively "Content." You are responsible for Content, including ensuring that it does not violate any applicable law or these Terms. You represent and warrant that you have all rights, licenses, and permissions needed to provide Input to our Services.

Our use of Content. We may use Content to provide, maintain, develop, and improve our Services, comply with applicable law, enforce our terms and policies, and keep our Services safe.

Accuracy. Artificial intelligence and machine learning are rapidly evolving fields of study. We are constantly working to improve our Services to make them more accurate, reliable, safe, and beneficial. Given the probabilistic nature of machine learning, use of our Services may, in some situations, result in Output that does not accurately reflect real people, places, or facts.

When you use our Services, you understand and agree that:

  • Output may not always be accurate. You should not rely on Output from our Services as a sole source of truth or factual information, or as a substitute for professional advice.
  • You must evaluate Output for accuracy and appropriateness for your use case, including using human review, before using or sharing Output from the Services.

6. Not a Law Firm

Solon provides a platform for legal information and self-help. The information provided by Solon along with the content on our website related to legal matters ("Legal Information") is provided for your private use and does not constitute advice. We do not review any information you provide us for legal accuracy or sufficiency, draw legal conclusions, or apply the law to the facts of your situation.

If you need advice for a specific problem, you should consult with a licensed attorney, which our Service may offer. As Solon, Inc. is not a law firm, please note that any communications between you and Solon may not be protected under the attorney-client privilege doctrine.

7. Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your information when you use our Services. By using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
